First of all we'd like to thank everyone who came out to support us. We had over 200 sign-ups which is a record for the event. We were assisted by good weather and our friends at The Whigville Preservation Group who put on the 1st Annual Harvest Fest at the newly painted Grange Hall. We did receive some immediate feedback asking for more categories and that runners are more interested in how they compete within their age group as opposed to cute prize baskets. We hear you and will make that adjustment next October. As always please let us know what you think by filling out the form below. We hope the entire day introduced or re-enforced just what a beautiful and special place Whigville is within our Burlington community. In the months to come the Burlington Land Trust and our friends at the WPG will be making a concerted effort to look for conservation opportunities in the area. You can also stay informed about news and events by liking the Whigville, USA Facebook Page or checking out The Burlington Land Trust website.
It has always been our desire to turn the Burlington 5K into a special event that brings a sense of community to our community. Whether you're running, walking or just cheering folks on, we hope to see you back next year.
